My Cactuses' Story

This is kinda boring entry, I know. But I will still post and share this anyway.

I bought two cute cactuses months ago and Mae's Instagram post was my inspiration. But then it ended there. I had them, then stationed them in the toilet (as Mae did) and then passed by them everyday.

These lovely plants are survivors. They lived inside the toilet for a half a year, more or less, but they had'nt been killed. I have no intention of killing them, of course. It is just that my subconscious (maybe) thinks that cactuses are immortals since they don't need to be watered and that they can sit inside the washroom forever without dying! Well, my subconscious mind was completely wrong. They need water (at some point), definitely needs light. Thus, bathroom must not be their dwelling place. However, I just didn't care much because in my eyes, they are completely fine.

I was thinking they were 100% fine but not until this morning. I accidentally elbowed one of my them and I did not have the barbed feeling at all! And as we all know, cactuses are prickly plants. Puzzled that I was, I looked closely and checked what was wrong. I was saddened to realize that the taller and greener one lost its small thorns on its edges. Luckily, the shorter and more-pricked one can still "prick you out" but the torns became a little bit softer. I got alarmed and started Google-ling some details. I'm afraid my cactuses were dying and I do not have any idea if I can still save them or will just die "naturally" in their respective little pots.

Now, my plants are (comfortably) sitting beside the window now. I hope they will still last for quite some more time. Honestly, I feel so guilty about this. I felt so irresponsible for not giving them  a few minutes everyday.
As far as i know, succulent plants are very easy to keep and that is why I had them. Indeed, it is true. However, there are still important pointers that "plant lovers wannabes" need to know. Please watch the video below.

Around Japan in 10 days

Not in my wildest dream that I ever saw myself setting foot on the land of the rising sun, JAPAN! But last February 2012, it became a reality. In few days time, I have seen glimpses of every part of Japan where the bullet train passes. Hitting Japan almost end to end on a Shinkansen bullet train was remarkably striking. I couldn't tell much anymore now about what had transpired on those 10 lovely days. All I can say is that, the experience was awesome. :)

If you want to spend a few more minutes on my page, let me share some pictures with you.

4 Newly Baptized Souls in Japan (29 Dec 2012)

This morning, I woke up and hurriedly prepared myself for a very important activity: baptism. This chance doesn't come everyday and I am so happy that I was there to witness. 12noon, Japan time, 4 souls were baptized in Ang Dating Daan's (The Old Path) Tokyo Locale. Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift!

Blessed. Happy. Thankful.

Today, I should be writing about the things that I have always been thankful for. But I’m having a hard time constructing my sentences. I tried you know. I’ve just been sitting here in a standoff with my iPad since yesterday. Now, me and my alter ego unanimously decided it’s best if I just eat my spaghetti out and drink my avocado shake up to its last drop then randomly write down my blessings. I have a lot, really. Mostly undeserved and I did not even worked hard for. I cant explain why I stammer in this writing. I have too much in my head but I don't know how and where to begin. Aaahh, yes. It is definitely because of too much excitement. Seriously, thats is the correct word: EXCITEMENT! I just cant wait. Our 2012 4th Quarter Thanksgiving is still two good night sleeps away and seems like the wait is forever. That's what it is like when you are anticipating for something you are crazy about, right? I bet you experienced it before, too. So here goes the list of the things I am being thankful about. I jotted them down in the order of importance to me.

HIS fold. Dedicated leaders Kuya Daniel Razon & Bro. Eli Soriano. His words. Righteous brethren. Duties. Choirmates. UNTV colleagues. Fellow group officers. Loved ones. Healthy me. Healthy family. Supportive & overly caring better-half. God-centered marriage. Childless. Too-much-loving Mother. Sweet brother and sister. Adorable nieces and nephews. Lovely family-in-law. Good friends. Great job. Nice boss. Jolly workmates. Ugly outside. Imperfect inside. Weak inside & out. Not intelligent enough. Anorexic bank account. Never ending debts. Many shortcomings. Troubles. Problems. Trials.

There are still lots but its already unspeakable, unfathomable and inexpressible. But I believe HE knows what I want to convey. I am unworthy of His love and more than undeserving of His mercy. And yet, among seven billion people on earth now, I am one of the lucky few hundreds that was called. And for all of these, I am so grateful. So on 22-24th of December 2012, the whole congregation of "The Old Path" or more commonly known as "Ang Dating Daan" will offer Thanksgiving to God Almighty! And I will be there by hook or by crook, Godwilling.

My Cooking Blog: The Beginning

These past few weeks, I have been thinking of how am I going to make this blogsite have a taste of little bit of everything in me. And thanks to my Sis Karms for giving me this idea. I've been cooking since I was in grade school. And, believe it or not, I was the one in-charged in preparing the family lunch and dinner almost everyday. I am not an expert, but cooking is surely my favorite household chore compared to dusting of all corners of the house and washing the dishes. It is on top of the list, actually. And now, my Sunday cooking will become more exciting because of this common-but-clever-and-new-to-me idea. I am hitting two birds in one stone here:First, I am doing something that I really love to share. Secondly is I get more inspired to serve my loving husband a sumptuous meal on weekends. By the way, you may wonder why I cook only on weekends. Well, that is just about diet matter. We cant afford eating too much yummy food everyday because we are somewhat health conscious already.

The dishes that I am thinking of featuring here are mainly those healthy, easy to prepare and low cost ones. Why? Because I am a working female and I am always on the go. But that shouldn't be the reason of me always depriving me and my Beybiaj of sumptuous and healthy food. So now, let us start the ball rolling!

Below are the top 10 dishes I am eyeing to prepare on the next few wekends, Godwilling.

1. Seafood Pasta
2. Sinigang na Salmon sa Miso
3. Fried fish and Ginisang Sayote
4. Fettuccini
5. Sinigang na Baka sa Bayabas
6. Pinakbet and Fried Pork Belly
7. Pansit Bihon
8. Mixed Pork & Chicken Embutido
9. Lumpiang Gulay ala Erl (Bro Eli inspired)
10. Ginisang Mongo and Fried Chicken

And before I totally put a stop on this entry, I want to let you all know that I will be more than happy if you will share with me your dishes!

Happy cooking and eating, guys :))
