Surprise for a Blogger-Wannabe :)

Who wouldn't be happy with this surprise? I was granted with a task that I was not expecting at all. A surprise that came in early but I discover two months later. Blame the the flood of notifications on my Facebook.

I am so thankful, I really am. And I am excited and ecstatic and I still can’t believe! I don’t think I am suited and able. I don’t possess a good knack in writing and I know in my heart that I don’t have much (or shall I say, I have very little) aptitude to put my thoughts into words and these words touch readers’ imagination. Without this things in my blood stream, do you think I can be a be a good blogger? I know you'll say NO with conviction. But with His help, I know, I will keep going and moving on doing the task.

For this, all I can say is
thank you & help me, my LORD...

Hi, Australia!

Around Victoria, Australia

From Top (L to R) to bottom: (1) Loving the rural atmosphere at Churchill Island that I felt like i do not want to go back to Singapore anymore; (2)Having some posing with the choppers on the background at Great Ocean Road (12 Apostles); (3) Somewhere in Warnambool: The place where I was able to have a very close encounter with jumping kangaroos in the wild. I was star strucked that I was not able to take pictures. Sigh.
From Top (L to R) to bottom: (1) At 12 Apostles. This scenic place is really breathtaking. 4-5hours drive going there was completely worth it. (2) Next is at Mornington Peninsula. we enjoyed walking around because there were no other visitors. Just the two of us :) ; (3) Outside the Melbourne Gaol. It used to be a prison house for the most notorious Australian criminals during 1940's.

From Top (L to R) to bottom: (1) I hate to state the obvious, but eer, we were at Melbourne Visitor Center in front of the Federation Square; (2) This is my favorite photo of ours: at Cape Schank Lighhouse, Mornington Peninsula; (3) That green train is the ever famous Puffing Billy train, one of the well-preserved steam train in the whole of Australia.
From Top (L to R) to bottom: (1) Visited my childhood friend, Angelo in their Truganina home; (2) Roaming around on a very late night at Melbourne CBD with rio and Vik. This was after the ASOP-AO Midyear Division Eliminations; (3) Visiting Bro Joel Saba in his Melbourne abode; (4) With Rio, Vik and my Beybi at Flinders Station. Late night strolling here was a lot of fun :)

Exploring New South Wales
From Top (L to R) to bottom: (1) @Feathedale Wildlife. Awesome place and highly recommended to future visitors; (2) @The Entrance. 1.5hrs away from Sydney. A very serene place and there are lots to do but I was only after the free afternoon attraction which is the pelican feeding; (3) @ the Scenic Blue Mountains. Nature tripping at its finest. It was damn cold and windy that day and I cant bear it haha!

From Top (L to R) to bottom: No need to say more top pics were taken in Sydney. On the background is the Sydney Opera House and the equally famous Harbour Bridge; below was in Darling Harbour and the place is really a darling. I dont mind going back and have some nice strolling again :D
Oh, Australia. I want to see more of you :)

My Cactuses' Story

This is kinda boring entry, I know. But I will still post and share this anyway.

I bought two cute cactuses months ago and Mae's Instagram post was my inspiration. But then it ended there. I had them, then stationed them in the toilet (as Mae did) and then passed by them everyday.

These lovely plants are survivors. They lived inside the toilet for a half a year, more or less, but they had'nt been killed. I have no intention of killing them, of course. It is just that my subconscious (maybe) thinks that cactuses are immortals since they don't need to be watered and that they can sit inside the washroom forever without dying! Well, my subconscious mind was completely wrong. They need water (at some point), definitely needs light. Thus, bathroom must not be their dwelling place. However, I just didn't care much because in my eyes, they are completely fine.

I was thinking they were 100% fine but not until this morning. I accidentally elbowed one of my them and I did not have the barbed feeling at all! And as we all know, cactuses are prickly plants. Puzzled that I was, I looked closely and checked what was wrong. I was saddened to realize that the taller and greener one lost its small thorns on its edges. Luckily, the shorter and more-pricked one can still "prick you out" but the torns became a little bit softer. I got alarmed and started Google-ling some details. I'm afraid my cactuses were dying and I do not have any idea if I can still save them or will just die "naturally" in their respective little pots.

Now, my plants are (comfortably) sitting beside the window now. I hope they will still last for quite some more time. Honestly, I feel so guilty about this. I felt so irresponsible for not giving them  a few minutes everyday.
As far as i know, succulent plants are very easy to keep and that is why I had them. Indeed, it is true. However, there are still important pointers that "plant lovers wannabes" need to know. Please watch the video below.

Blessed. Happy. Thankful.

Today, I should be writing about the things that I have always been thankful for. But I’m having a hard time constructing my sentences. I tried you know. I’ve just been sitting here in a standoff with my iPad since yesterday. Now, me and my alter ego unanimously decided it’s best if I just eat my spaghetti out and drink my avocado shake up to its last drop then randomly write down my blessings. I have a lot, really. Mostly undeserved and I did not even worked hard for. I cant explain why I stammer in this writing. I have too much in my head but I don't know how and where to begin. Aaahh, yes. It is definitely because of too much excitement. Seriously, thats is the correct word: EXCITEMENT! I just cant wait. Our 2012 4th Quarter Thanksgiving is still two good night sleeps away and seems like the wait is forever. That's what it is like when you are anticipating for something you are crazy about, right? I bet you experienced it before, too. So here goes the list of the things I am being thankful about. I jotted them down in the order of importance to me.

HIS fold. Dedicated leaders Kuya Daniel Razon & Bro. Eli Soriano. His words. Righteous brethren. Duties. Choirmates. UNTV colleagues. Fellow group officers. Loved ones. Healthy me. Healthy family. Supportive & overly caring better-half. God-centered marriage. Childless. Too-much-loving Mother. Sweet brother and sister. Adorable nieces and nephews. Lovely family-in-law. Good friends. Great job. Nice boss. Jolly workmates. Ugly outside. Imperfect inside. Weak inside & out. Not intelligent enough. Anorexic bank account. Never ending debts. Many shortcomings. Troubles. Problems. Trials.

There are still lots but its already unspeakable, unfathomable and inexpressible. But I believe HE knows what I want to convey. I am unworthy of His love and more than undeserving of His mercy. And yet, among seven billion people on earth now, I am one of the lucky few hundreds that was called. And for all of these, I am so grateful. So on 22-24th of December 2012, the whole congregation of "The Old Path" or more commonly known as "Ang Dating Daan" will offer Thanksgiving to God Almighty! And I will be there by hook or by crook, Godwilling.

Dressing Up Anew

Its been a while since I last wrote an entry in this blog. It is really a shame. Busy? Lazy? No idea? Whatever.

Now, I wanted to write again. I am no good but I will still do this. Now, I will be incorporating some more other categories. I wnat to share what I cook on a Sunday, where I went for holiday, what special events I went to, new friends I met, etc. etc. I hope this will work. I wanted to make this blogsite informative and interesting at the same time. I wanted to put so many things that when I grow older, I will read this all over again to remind myself of all I had for the past few years.

Happy writing to me!

Goodbye, Sweet Yue Yue...

Days ago, the world was shocked and enraged at the same time by this brutal incident. I first saw a caption about this video captured by a CCTV camera in Gaungzhou, China in Facebook. I watched the first few seconds but  on the part when the child was already hit by the car, I can't merely stand watching the full film. I can't help but cry.  It was heartbreaking. For me, those people that saw the child but did not do anything to help, they are more than heartless.  Sorry, but that is the best word that I know will suit them.  The only person who dared to help the little kid was even accused of being publicity-looking old lady. Ridiculous.

Chen Xianmei, a helpful -old woman  was the only one who helped the 2-yr old kid.
Until now, I am astonished on the behavior that the passers-by have shown. The way they responded to the situation did not even show a slight shadow of concern. It was so unusual. I do not know what's in them but there is one thing I have learned from the bible and I strongly believe that it is guarateed true: by nature, all human beings are equipped with God's words. It is written in the heart of each one of us. It is just up to us whether we follow our conscience or not.

Romans 2:15
They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.

But it is not yet the end of the line. God is forgiving more than anyone else. he will surely be glad to accept those who will turn their backs from evil and decide to walk on the path He wanted us to take.  God has the power to enlighten people's minds. I hope and pray that God may see some beauty in their hearts and give them chance change before it is too late.

Deutoronomy 30:19
This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.
The struggling toddler, Yue Yue..
Now, the toddler is dead due to internal organs failure. The kid managed to fight but God has taken back   the little child's life now. For Yue Yue, thanks be to God for the world have known you. Though it was in a tragic way, at least, you have left a mark and story that everybody will learn something from. You are indeed beautiful and God will bring you in heaven when it is the proper time already. That is for sure. Among with others who died as kids and babies, You are lucky.

Matthew 19:14
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

What is the true meaning of life?
Will God hear the Prayer of a Woman Facing an Abortion?

17 July 2011

So now, what will we live for?

Bible says:
Eclesiastes 12:1-8
Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near when you will say, “I have no delight in them”; before the sun and the light, the moon and the stars are darkened, and clouds return after the rain; in the day that the watchmen of the house tremble, and mighty men stoop, the grinding ones stand idle because they are few, and those who look through windows grow dim;  and the doors on the street are shut as the sound of the grinding mill is low, and one will arise at the sound of the bird, and all the daughters of song will sing softly. Furthermore, men are afraid of a high place and of terrors on the road; the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper drags himself along, and the caperberry is ineffective. For man goes to his eternal home while mourners go about in the street. Remember Him before the silver cord is broken and the golden bowl is crushed, the pitcher by the well is shattered and the wheel at the cistern is crushed; then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it. Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher, “all is vanity!”

While we are still at the prime of our lives, we have to spend our time wisely. Don't waste it with things of frivolity. The video below is an advertisement for a bank in Taiwan done years ago. Obviously, it encourages people to prepare for their "future". It is good to plan ahead, but there is a thing called eternity that we should give more focus to. Before that day comes, a rigid preparation has to be done. It is saddening that, little did many people realize that no matter how we plan for our lives, inevitably, all of us will die in whichever way and timing God will allow. And our borrowed life will go back to God. Everything that we worked hard for will be left behind.

Still, the big question remains: What will we live for:? Save and work for things of this world OR, prepare  on something that God has prepared for us after everything here on earth is done? Will we still be bothered much on keeping things that is seen in this place called earth? The problem with us, people, is we are so much attached to things we see around. We are very much disturbed on how to acquire more and more material things each and everyday. In one of Thanksgiving day, Bro. Daniel discussed about how can God destroy all people's riches in a single wink. All He can do is send typhoon or earthquke, maybe. Then everything will be gone. Forever. What happened to Japan was his example.

Bible says:
2 Corinthians 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Japan before part it was stricken by Tsunami this year.

And this is what 's left after the tragedy.

In a matter of hours, all was gone. many died. few survived. The once so progressive place looks like a haunted town now. Riches cannot save anyone. God can take it away in a snap. And if calamity don't come our way, still everything you have will rotten in time.

Bible says:
Matthew 6:19-20 Treasures in Heaven“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

This was once a beautiful house. Now, a beautiful house no more.

God has given us life for us to spend in servicing Him, with our whole capability and ability.

 Bible says:
(Luke 10:27) And he answered, " You shall love the Lord God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and neighbors as yourself."

So, are you interested know how to spend your younger years to get to eternity? Go here and keep reading. From this man, you will learn more about salvation, trust me. He will teach you the truth about God and the bible. All these learnings, I owe to God through this man.

We dont pick who we fall in-love with...

Here I go again. This is an after-effect of watching too much love stories so please have a basket full of patience if you intend to finish reading this entry.

Though this is not a new line, I love this dialogue in the movie we just watched: We dont pick who we fall in-love with... Oh yes. It is so, so true. This can probably the reason why there are pairs that seem to be odd: tall girl with a so short man;and intelligent girl married to an average guy; head-turner gal holding hands with not-so-goodlooking boy. And love being "magical" and "mysterious" does'nt stop here. We can never tell. I have a friend who got married to his college teacher and a schoolmate who got married to her bigtime crush that never gave her the attention she has been dreaming of since elementary days. For sure, a lot of you got more fascinating love stories to share and these might not be too shocking for you. But it is, at least, for me.

Shudders and giggles aside, we certainly cannot choose who we fall in-love with. It will come from nowhere and  we will be caught unaware that we started to fall slowly. But it is not because we feel something special about a person, we can say that he is "the one" already.  Will a boy fall for a girl who's already committed with another boy? Yes, this is so possible, but it is rightful and just? Will you choose to  be in the  "loving arms" of a drug addict o a drug lord? There are some who will readily get into this. Would that be good? Definitely not.We don't pick who we fall in-love with but we do have guide to avoid getting caught in a serious trouble because of falling in-love.  Be very careful of the character of the person you'll get involved with. Always  be guided by God's words. Remember this verse:

Proverbs 19:14
House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.

Do not do things your way. God has something good for each one of us. Just follow Him first and everything will follow. We should entrust things to Him. He knows best.

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God,and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Falling in-love and getting into a relationship is a serious commitment. We should know. It is not all about snuggling, hugging, holding hands and sweet-nothings.  It is not like a fairy tale story that, most of the time, ends happily everafter. Its a promise. A commitment that we should keep. We are all aware that in anything, along the way problems pop up. Conflicts arise. Intruders get into the scene. Always remember that we are tied in a covenant.

Galatians 3:15
Brothers and sisters, let me take an example from everyday life. Just as no one can set aside or add to a human covenant that has been duly established, so it is in this case.

And with this commitment, we should learn to accept our partner's shortcomings and lapses. Who does'nt commit mistakes, anyway? As what Bro. Eli Soriano told us weeks ago: Marry a person who loves you so much. True, indeed because a person who is deeply in-love can accept and endure anything for the love of his life.

Before I end this blog, there is one very important pointer I want to share (I learned this, of course, from Bro. Eli Soriano), never ever select a person who will keep you away from God and bring you to danger instead. If that would be the case, let go. The pain will not last a lifetime, anyway. There is more to life than having a lovelife.Well, no need to say more. Be wise!

A Christian's Overview for the Movie "Hall Pass"

One time, on our way home from I-don't-remember-where, my husband and I had this conversation:

My husband:  Have you heard of the movie "Hall Pass"?
Me: No. Why? What is the story about?
My husband: It is about two married men who were given the chance by their wives to do philandering for a week.
Me: You want me to give you Hall Pass, too? Is that what you mean by telling me that?
My husband: (Paused for a while). No. I don't want it. It sounds like "HELL PASS". I Don't want to be there!
Me: Hahahahaha! Learned Christian.

And we both laugh out loud :-)

There is nothing more I can say but thanks be to God for a  loving, considerate, and mostly, God-fearing husband. And  I am so grateful that we are continuously growing  in faith thru Bro Eli Soriano.

Seriously, this movie got a lot important  points to discuss with regards to violating  God's  will.  The chaotic story started when Rick's (Owen Wilson) and Fred's (Jason Sudeikis) wives got irritated and so overly annoyed with their constant cracking of dirty jokes and sidelong and slyly lascivious glances to other girls. So, to stop these crazy stuff on their better halves' heads,  they came up  with  this hall pass idea. They didn't worry much because they were quite confident that their husbands are lousy girl hunters. And as the husbands were busy "hunting", the women had their break and almost had extramarital affairs, too.

However, even with a wife-approved philandering, best buddies Rick and Fred  had difficulty living out their psychotic beliefs about life as unmarried guys. But in the end, they  have realized that they are so much dedicated to their vows more than how they imagined they were.

There is no such thing as perfect, not even a marriage. And as what I have learned from Bro Eli Soriano, that is the very reason why God made all  the commandments. He knows that people has the tendency to go the way they shouldn't take. So, to keep the  relationship properly nurtured, it must be flourished with the best guides to  follow everyday. A lot of books now have been written on how to this or how to do that- books about almost everything for everyday living. But there is this one book that will provide the only correct set of rules to follow- the Bible.

To Christians, marriage is a very sacred thing and a life-long commitment. Its a vow blessed by God that once you said yes to marriage, there is no turning back.

James 5:12 Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.

Only death can separate a Christian couple. In sickness and in health, for better or for worse, until death do they part. So, whatever difficulties and struggles come in each couple's way, they should stick together until the end. A Christian couple is strictly and firmly bounded to God's law.

(Romans 7:2) “For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.”

In marriage, philandering and adultery is not acceptable for Christians. In the story, women let their husbands do it because they got pissed off. But, if you are a  Christian, you will never push your husband to do such  because it is a serious offense against God's will. In the story's climax, the wives had nearly done cheating, too. In real life, this scenario makes satan so, so happy since preys bite his bait willingly. So, when we see bad thoughts pop up on your partner's mind- block it immediately so as not to let satan step in.

Hebrews 13:4   Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

The main guys in the film were so inconsiderate about how their wives would feel when they openly express their wild lunatic thoughts when seeing other gal's skin and curves laid before their eyes. Women are fragile by nature, emotionally and physically. And that is the reason why God commanded husbands to be so protective extra careful with their wives.

1 Peter 3:7   Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

And discussing about their crazy fantasies about other females is not only about being uncaring and insensitive about their wives' feelings, but the act  of fantasizing about other girls also made them commit adultery already. Only few knows that adultery is only committed if there is a physical contact. Well, blame it to the religious leaders that only cares for the tithes. They Pretend to be of God, but their teachings show otherwise and most of the times, using God's word for profit.

Matthew 5:27-28  “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery,28But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Ones married, the man is one with the woman and they should be working and moving as one body. They have to work hand in hand. A Christian couple is admonished by God to live under God’s law.

1 Corinthians 7:4-5  The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife.

So to couples, put God and His law in the center and with His mercy and grace, everything will be alright.

Will God hear the Prayer of a Woman Facing an Abortion?

I saw this poem in one of my Facebook friend's posts. The title caught my attention  and so, I read it. Initially, I don't have the intention of putting the link here, but when I was halfway done, I realized I have to.

So, here is the poem that obligated me to compose this entry.

Prayer of a Woman Facing an Abortion

The choice has been made.
One of the hardest of my life.
Bless me as I go forth.
Help me to face the guilt I feel
so that I may not run from the truth.
Empower me to own the fear in my heart
that I may have compassion
for others who share my pain.
Bless all who support me
with the strength of their love.
Amen.

People, most often than not, thinks that he is always doing the right decision, without him knowing that it will bring him to perdition. Bible is right, and it can never go wrong.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.

Firstly, a human knows in his heart that he must not kill anyone and yet, will still commit such crime. God has placed commandments in each person's heart. So, even if he never had the chance to listen to the true God-sent preacher, he can recognize right from wrong.

Romans 2:15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.

And God loved us all so much that He gave us freedom to choose, and even reminded us to pick the way going to Him in eternal life. But in this poem, it says that the choice has been made. Well, then its a wrong choice- abortion should never be an option.

Deutoronomy 30:19 This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.

But why is it that there are a lot of women committing abortion? Is it because they do not feel emotionally and financially responsible and ready enough to have children? Or can it be that, they are too self-centered that they want to take more care of themselves than look over a child? Is it  also possible that its an unwanted child from a forbidden relationship? Rape victim? Among all these reasons, nothing is good enough to justify aborting a child in his mother's womb. God is the only one who can give and take away life, and however which way He wish, He is God and His will, we follow and accept.

Deuteronomy 32:39 Now see that I, even I, am He,And there is i kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; Nor is there any who can deliver from My hand. no God besides Me...

I am a human- and I am a woman. So, I know how the feeling would be like if I will be in any of these female dilemmas, but  thanks be to God that I  was able to understand God's will and His loving kindness to us, humans. In everything, He has reasons. God is far more bigger than any problem we will encounter in this journey called life. God is good. He is just a prayer away and He will not forsake anyone who sincerely asks for His help. Even friends or parents, in some cases, may urge a confused gal to resort to abortion. One should not listen.God knows better than any parent ever lived. And, mind you- killing is to satan.

Psalms 103:8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

Lastly, there are things that God hates the most. and this includes abortion. So, why pray for guidance when you are about to commit abortion? its completely absurd.

Proverbs 6:17 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

So, will God listen to this prayer? I dont think so. It is against His will and commandment.

Thanks be to God that I have learned all these from the only sensible preacher I have ever heard, Bro Eli Soriano.

Household helpers: Never a lesser man...

I was touched with the importance and respect my American boss and his family is giving to their Filipina maid. Upon seeing them, I felt compelled to write something about househelps. I saw a lot of people that giving importance to their helpers, but sad to say that there are also some that are so cruel.

In this world we live in, there are really people who treat less fortunates as trashes. And these people acts like they are  human beings of higher class, then looking at poor people as lesser man. Well, elite, feeling-elite or just an elite-wannabe, its just the same. As long as they treat poor people so bad, it is really a prick in  the heart. I have seen a lot of people of this kind. And what's ironic is, they still see themselves as fair and just. But as what I've learned from bible through Bro Eli: there are things that people perceive as correct but in reality, they lead themselves to danger.

Proverbs 16:25
There are ways that seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

I learned this from Bro Eli: you should not limit yourself on doing good to your loved ones, relatives or even close friends only because it is normal. God is asking us to jump out of that zone. He is asking us to do good to all.

Galatians 6:10
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to them who are of the household of faith.

The most common prey I know are the househelps. In the Philippines, househelps are receiving salary ranging from P2,000.00 to P3,000.00 pesos maybe and an estimate of P10,000.00 if they work abroad. At this amount, some are thinking that these helpers are already their slaves. And they maybe even think that at this price, they can do whatever they want. Idont know why, but when I see people maltreating others, my selective memory stores it in my brain.Let me have some classic examples.

One of my friend's sister from abroad went back home for a vacation with her family. She asked the maid to wash her blouse that she bought on sale in Glorietta for, if I am not  mistaken,  P2,000.00. This poor maid washed the blouse but she accidentally stained it with dark-colored spots. To make this story short, this girl asked the maid to pay the blouse with her 1 month salary. But that $2,000.00 will cover her family's 30-days expenses in the province. So, sorry for the maid's family, no food for 30 days. Or maybe, any of her family  member cannot buy medicine and needs to wait for one more month. That's the life of poor.- hand-to-mouth. It is really heart-breaking. For sure she still has a lot of P2,000.00 to but a replacement for the stained blouse but she has chosen to make the maid suffer for a month. P2,000.00 for her is just a 1-hour  of working partime in abroad.

One more scenario that, until now, is clear on my memory: There is this 8-year-old child who was looking for some stuff in her big bag. Frustrated that she was, she turned to the helper and asked to look for whatever-it-is thing. Unfortunately, she cant also find it. Out of frustration, she hit the helper for more than five times in the face. Exactly on that moment, the mother came in, saw what was happening. Surprisingly- instead of asking what happened or telling her child to stop hitting the maid, she also scolded the poor helper. An 8-year-old child can already tell which is good and which is bad. But with this kind of mother that she has, she already had a mindset that maids are not worthy of respect. Take note: this child is always treating maids a slave and this story is only one of those "tragic moment" the maid had with this spoiled child. yes, spoiled. As in rotten. So there are two lessons here: First, be considerate to the needy; and next is teach children how to respect others. It all starts at home. There is no way parents can blame it on TV shows, or any other outside influences because it is at home she absorbs basic things in life. God respects people, so the more that we should be religious on respecting others, too regardless of their status in the society.

Psalm 138:6
Though the LORD [be] high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.

There are even cases that is much worse than these just like the video below.

Maids are the ones making our daily loads ligher. They serves as our extension when we are away. They take care of our house, our children, all that we value at home. They are somehow part of our extended family, and most of all, they are human beings, too. God made them, too. So lets treat them right. And God's heart is more close to those less priveleged and oppressed. That is the reason why household helpers are never a lesser man.
